Class Description
This course is designed for current and aspiring supervisors. The student will examine a supervisor’s range of responsibilities along with situational leadership skills, styles, and techniques necessary to effectively direct and control a work team. Topics to be covered include functions of supervision, theories of management, transitioning to supervision, team communication, and leadership styles/situations. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to understand and explain the responsibilities of a supervisor explain the differences between managing and supervising, monitor and avoid communication breakdown, and demonstrate appropriate situation leadership styles.
