PLEASE NOTE: THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN RECENTLY UPDATED AND REVISED. This First Line Administrator Training Program is required by the Police and Correctional Training Commissions for all police and correctional personnel assigned or promoted into their department’s first line administrator rank. It meets all Mandated training objectives for First Line Administrators.
The program facilitates the understanding of effective management and leadership. Instructors guide students through scenario-based learning and problem identification and resolution that is geared to supporting the student’s success in their role as a First Line Administrator. The project requirement for this program has been replaced with 6 daily quizzes. Students must score 75% or higher average among all the quizzes and maintain at least a 90% attendance in order to receive credit for the class.
If the class is full and you want to be placed on a waiting list please contact Katie.Johnson@maryland.gov. There is a strict deadline for registration of 1-week prior to the first day of class. One week prior to the start of class, enrolled students will receive, via e-mail, a detailed course description and schedule, along with a brief, required pre-training assignment. This must be completed and turned in on the first day of class.
Cost Update Effective July 1, 2016:$135 for client agencies; $250 for non-client agencies (DPSCS employees attend at no cost)

Class days 1-6 will run 8:30AM-4:00PM; the final class day will begin at 8:30AM and run until 12:00PM.
* Registration Fee includes morning and afternoon beverage service each class day and lunch on the last day of class, as well as a Resource Notebook and a copy of the book “The 27 Challenges Managers Face” by Bruce Tulgan.
