This course is designed to provide the student with a structured way of re-interpreting disagreements and misunderstandings through improved communication techniques in a variety of professional situations. Topics to be covered include problem solving, communication skills, decision making, and interpersonal skills. All organizational personnel involved n team leadership and organizational change are a potential audience for this training, which is structured to accommodate levels of staff in the same room. Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to identify practical methods of problem resolution in a variety of situations, identify interaction styles and develop the skills to overcome differences that lead to conflict, identify communication methods, and describe the attributes of effective conflict mediators.
