This course is designed to enable the law enforcement and/or correction supervisor, along with aspiring supervisors, to learn about his/her role in workplace violence incidents and prevention. Topics to be covered include: de-escalating conflict, domestic violence laws, types of workplace violence, and threatening behavior.
This course will help to identify behaviors in colleagues that may require intervention and/or counseling. New supervisors completing this course identify threatening behavior and situations, identify departmental and outside resources that are available to employees and methods of de-escalating situations that could endanger other colleagues.
