LDI- Staff Ride Leadership Lessons from Antietam

General Description
As one of the most consequential days in American history, the Battle of Antietam offers significant opportunities to learn for leaders, even 160 years later. The training intent of the Staff Ride to Antietam is to lay out foundational leadership principles, using the battlefield as a vehicle, and to spur 21st-century law enforcement-based leadership discussions. Leadership principles inherently transcend time, occupation, have no historical bounds, are universal in nature, and one of the best-preserved battlefields in America is the perfect backdrop to discuss those principles.

Consisting of lecture, discussion, battlefield tour, and group exercises, this intensive two-day course will immerse the participating First Line Supervisor to Executive Administrator into the following themes:

*Establishing clarity of intent and expectations in highly fluid environments
*Gaining enrollment and commitment versus consent and compliance
*Mission First, Self-Interest Last, Performance Mindset
