Officer-Community Interaction (Virtual Reality)

 
General Description
Officer-Community Interaction (Virtual Reality Training) focuses on the different aspects of officers interacting with individuals in the community. Participants will have classroom instruction on de-escalation considerations and techniques, as well as the "necessary and proportional" standard established by the Maryland Use of Force statute. Participants will have hands-on experience with a cutting-edge, scenario-based virtual reality simulator (APEX Officer). This class also features video assessment and evaluation on current mandates that have been the focus of Police Reform.

This course is for certified law enforcement officers only.

Due to the nature of this training, NO LIVE WEAPONS are to be brought in the building. Dress code is polo and BDUs.
