Implicit-Bias Awareness Training for DPSCS

General Description
The FIP Training Program customized for the executive leadership of the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services is a 4-hour course that is led as a working group. The participants will learn about the science of bias and how bias might manifest in the work of the personnel of the DPSCS—from the line level to the executive leadership. Participants will learn about the consequences of biased decisions and the skills they need to be fair and impartial. Because this is a leadership-level course, the group will discuss what leaders in the DPSCS need to do beyond reducing and managing their own biases. Discussion topics include personnel training, supervising subordinates to produce impartial behavior, and adopting mechanisms to reduce the risk of bias.

This program is for DPSCS staff only.

Each program date specifies the audience so be sure to include the attendee's TITLE in the rank field when requesting enrollment.
