Mental Health First Aid (In-Person)

 

General Description
This course will teach participants to recognize the symptoms of mental health problems, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide the individual to professional help, if appropriate. Registration is open to all MPCTC client-agencies, defined as Maryland certified agencies under the regulated authority of the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commissions (MPCTC).

Students that obtain the minimum passing score of 80%, per the National Council for Behavioral Health, and meet the attendance requirement will receive eight (8) hours of in-service training.

$20 for MPCTC client-agencies / DPSCS staff attend at no-cost. Non-client agency enrollments are not being accepted at this time. All students will receive a textbook from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
