Defensive Tactics Instructor (6-Day Course)

This course will teach the skills needed to teach defensive tactics at the academy and in-service levels. This 6-day course will include lectures pertaining to the History of DT, DT & Law Enforcement, De-escalating Techniques, Use of Force, Transfer of Knowledge, and Safety in Training. The course will concentrate on practical lessons and skills, including combatives, self-defense techniques, ground fighting, weapon retention, and defensive against edge weapons. Candidates who successfully complete this course will be eligible for certification as a DT Instructor. MMA gloves, mouth and groin protection required.
