Class Description
Racial Profiling is one of the most complex and controversial issues facing law enforcement professionals today. It is an activity that undermines the public trust which is vital for effective community policing organizations. This class will include how to monitor incidents and keep statistics on when and why; develop or modify policies and practices; adopt a zero tolerance policy; engage in ongoing training initiatives on racism, race relations and racial profiling; review practices to ensure that they respond to the needs; develop educational materials, particularly aimed at youth; explain citizens rights and reach out to the community for their thoughts and recommendations.
