LDI- LEOBR for Hearing Board Members

 

General Description
This course provides participants with a comprehensive review of Maryland’s Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights and the administrative hearing board processes. This course will offer an informed and intelligent analysis of the statutory, administrative and case law concepts that are relevant to all LEOBR hearings, as well as practical tips for managing the investigation and litigation of the cases.

At the conclusion of the course, participants will: (1) describe the general principles of conducting administrative hearings; (2) be prepared to conduct LEOBR hearings in a manner that reflects fairness, efficiency and professionalism; and (3) demonstrate the use of legal principles that apply to LEOBR investigations and hearings.
