This First Line Administrator (FLA) Program is mandated by COMAR for all police and correctional personnel assigned or promoted into their department’s first line administrator rank. Participants must complete this 35-hour program within 12 months of their promotion. This program meets the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission's and the Correctional Training Commission's objectives for First Line Administrators. This program equips participants with the core competencies needed to manage complex administrative functions, navigate human resources challenges, and effectively lead personnel in a high-stakes environment. To successfully complete the program, students will be required to take daily quizzes with a minimum average score of 75% and maintain at least a 90% attendance throughout the duration of the course. There is a strict deadline for registration of 1-week prior to the first day of class.
Important Notices:
- Agencies holding a seat with a yet to-be-determined student will need to enter the information TWO MONTHS prior to the course start date. If student information is not entered by this time, the hold will be automatically removed from the roster.
- The Date of Promotion to Current Rank is required to enroll in this course.
- Each LDI program is limited to 5 students per agency per class date. If you wish to place additional names on a waitlist in case the cap is lifted, please contact Katie.Johnson@maryland.gov
Class days 1-6 will run 8:30am-4:00pm; Day 7 will run 8:30am-12:00pm.
Cost Update Effective January 1, 2018: $150 for client agencies; $210 for non-client agencies (DPSCS=no cost)
